RedTees

To help you make the most of your stay in Ireland we have compiled a list of
possible activities:

English language classes

These are available on an individual basis or in classes. Cost is €195 per week for 16 hours in a group (all levels catered for) or €55 per hour on a one to one basis. All teachers are experienced and fully qualified.

Touring

Visit some points of interest in the Dublin area or further afield. In Dublin, we would suggest a tour including Trinity College, Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin Castle, the National Museum and the Guinness Store House. Glendalough and the Boyne Valley, less than an hour away, are very pleasant half day trips.

Sports

Tennis, hiking, garden visits, pitch and putt practice and scenic country walks are free options, while golf tuition, indoor golf academy, dance and pilates classes will be quoted on request.

Nightlife

If you are a bridge player, it will be our pleasure to invite you to our club free of charge, or to organise a friendly game at home. Dining or drinking out is extra (you pay your share) as are theatre or concert tickets (typically from €50 to €100). The Abbey Theatre, the O2 Concert Hall or the National Concert Hall are some of the venues which might offer entertainment to your taste. We will let you know their programmes ahead of time. Restaurants may cost around €50 per person and an average drink in an Irish pub such as famous Johnnie Fox’s, just outside Dublin, costs approximately €4.50.

Shopping

Dublin city offers a great choice of Irish and international fashion with its chic boutiques and signature department store, Brown Thomas, at the bottom of famous Grafton Street. To reward yourself after your shopping spree, walk to Temple Bar, the Irish “Latin Quarter” and have a tasty lunch in one of its many atmospheric restaurants or step into St Stephen’s Green, the heart of Dublin, to rest on a bench and watch the world go by. If you prefer a more compact venue, the Powerscourt Estate, south of Dublin, offers a small selection of Irish shops, including Avoca handweavers, amazing gardens and a much loved café-restaurant with unusual tasty dishes.
